Tim Lang is a trading executive with more than a 25-year track record of establishing, managing and executing equity trading strategies over a period of changing market conditions and significant market restructurings. Tim has held leading positions in industry as a Partner, Managing Director and Executive Committee member at Spear, Leeds & Kellogg where he formulated strategy, set policy and managed all firm operations; including all off-floor trading functions which involved domestic and international risk arbitrage, proprietary trading, convertible securities, distressed securities, junk bonds and bankruptcies. At Sherwood Securities Tim was Senior Vice President, Head of Listed Trading. There he built a listed trading desk with internalized order flow from their subsidiary National Discount Brokers, the first flat-fee Internet based brokerage firm. Most recently he was at Credit Suisse’s Swiss American Securities subsidiary where he was Vice President and Head of Internalized Trading. While there, Tim made markets in over 3000 listed securities; interacted with customer and broker dealers order flow on an electronic market-making platform; executed large orders from customers and other B/D’s on a not held and/or net basis and was an advisor to the firm in all aspects of the market transition to electronic trading under the new NMS regulations.


John Scholvin has been designing, building, and supporting low-latency trading systems for over 15 years. Before joining Global, he delivered profitable, scalable and reliable systems for Hull Trading, Goldman Sachs, Base-2 Capital, Chicago Trading Company and PEAK6. Before his career in trading, John worked for ten years in telecommunications and embedded systems where he gained deep experience building low-latency, high-availability applications. With this broad background in all aspects of technology—from infrastructure to market data to risk and order management—John is the hands-on leader of the team responsible for reinforcing and extending the success of the Global Trading Platform. He has a B.S. in Computer Science from Northwestern University, and an M.S. from the University of Illinois.


John Crumley has been involved in technical management and development in the financial industry for over ten years. As Managing Director with TBA Enterprises, John was responsible for the successful completion of a variety of projects for high speed trading including matching engines, orders management systems and best execution optimization platforms. These projects have involved both exchange based systems as well as systems for market makers and specialist firms. Prior to entering the financial industry, John worked for seven years in large manufacturing project and change management in the consumer products space for Ingersoll-Rand. John holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.


Vito Botta is a past member of the Chicago Stock Exchange and Principal at LaSalle Capital, LLC with 28 years experience in the securities equity markets. Vito has experience in floor and screen based trading, operations risk management and execution analysis combined with strategic algorithmic spread index analysis. Vito also was instrumental in the design and development of real-time best execution variable pricing system for preparation and analysis of SEC Rule 605/606 routing disclosures. Vito served on Chicago Stock Exchange Board of Directors during demutualization and was instrumental in the strategic migration of the exchange to the E.C.N. platform. Vito manages the testing and performance of all liquidity sources, works closely with Markit (QSG) on client trade analytics, and designs our in-house TCA.


Bill Burke has been involved in equity trading for 25 years. Most of his career was spent as an institutional sales trader covering many of the largest buy-side money managers in the U.S. In addition, Bill has managed sales and trading desks as well as served on the management committee at Robertson Stephens. He has also spent 15 years coaching both high school and college basketball, most recently at the University of Louisville. Since January 2011 Bill has been coordinating both the sales effort and client relationship management at Global.
